ICT Security Specialist Job at CIC Insurance

Purpose

To research, develop, implement, test and review CIC’s information security policy and standards in order to protect information and prevent unauthorized access from internal and external threats.
This will include educating users about security measures, potential threats, installing security software, implementing security measures and monitoring networks.

ICT Security Specialist Job Primary Responsibilities

Develop ICT security plans & Controls that ensure that ICT security is not compromised;
Vulnerability assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and work closely with both internal & external auditors, Risk dept. and business units and other 3rd party auditors and testers to pre-empt, mitigate, and swiftly respond to any audit findings that require action;
Ensuring that the rules of use for information systems and the administrative procedures for information Systems comply with CIC’s information security policies;
Train CIC staff on Information Security policies and promote best practice on information security;
Develop and implement Disaster Recovery, Data Sensitivity, Back-up and Recovery, and Disaster Recovery Plans and Procedures. (BCP);
Tests CIC’S Core Systems data processing operations to identify potential problem areas and single points of failure that may result in interruptions to critical data processing operations. He/she will then recommend additional external support where applicable.

Generic Duties

Carry out performance appraisal, coaching and mentoring staff;
Resource allocation, staffing and leave approval;
Participate in planning and budgeting for the department;
Participate in various meeting and committees.

Person Specification for ICT Security Specialist Job

Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a in a related field
Professional Qualifications
CISA
CISSP/CRISC/CISM/CBCI is an added advantage

Experience

Up to three (3) years’ relevant work experience
